Inveniam moves to acquire Mantra after OM crash
- Inveniam Capital Partners plans to acquire Mantra and its affiliated entities to expand its real-world asset tokenisation infrastructure.
- The deal follows Inveniam's US$20 million strategic investment in Mantra in August 2025 and the launch of the NVNM Chain.
- The acquisition comes after a difficult year for Mantra, including a 90% collapse in the OM token and company restructuring.
Inveniam Capital Partners announced plans to acquire Mantra and its affiliated entities, expanding its presence in blockchain infrastructure focused on tokenised real-world assets and artificial intelligence-enabled private markets.
The proposed acquisition follows Inveniam's US$20 million strategic investment in Mantra in August 2025 and the May 2026 launch of NVNM Chain, a layer-2 blockchain built on Mantra's technology.
“This acquisition positions us to be value-additive to the global private markets ecosystem faster,” said Inveniam chairman and chief executive Patrick O'Meara.
Inveniam said the transaction is intended to strengthen the integration of regulated blockchain infrastructure with AI-ready private market data, supporting digital asset verification and tokenisation initiatives.
The acquisition follows a challenging period for Mantra, whose Mantra (CRYPTO:OM) token lost about 90% of its value in April 2025, erasing more than US$5 billion in market capitalisation, while no financial terms for the acquisition were disclosed.
Following the OM collapse, Mantra announced layoffs and a corporate restructuring, with chief executive John Patrick Mullin attributing the token's decline to forced position closures by centralised exchanges rather than sales by the project team or investors.
Inveniam said the deal will accelerate its efforts to develop digital private market infrastructure for institutional investors, asset owners and decentralised finance participants as tokenisation adoption continues to expand across financial markets.
At the time of reporting, MANTRA price was $0.008112.
