Fortuna Mining (NYSE:FSM) reported its first drilling results from the Kabewest prospect in Senegal, including 1.9 grams of gold per tonne over an estimated true width of 64 metres.
The intersection came from drill hole FBRC0008, starting at 19 metres, while mineralization has been identified across more than 600 metres of strike and remains open along strike and at depth.
The initial exploration programme completed 45 reverse circulation and diamond drill holes covering 10,524 metres, forming part of an $8 million, 51,000-metre drilling campaign planned across the Bambadji Project through the end of 2026.
Approximately 70% of assay results have been received, and Fortuna expects to publish an initial Inferred Mineral Resource estimate in the first quarter of 2027, subject to completion and review of the remaining technical work.
Kabewest is located approximately 2.3 kilometres from the proposed Diamba Sud processing plant, and the company has moved six drilling rigs to the Wari and Latifa prospects, with three rigs assigned to each location.
Fortuna is advancing exploration across the Bambadji Project as part of its Senegal operations, with the broader programme targeting at least eight priority prospects and seeking to identify additional gold resources near Diamba Sud.
