Fortuna Metals completes 7,618m aircore drilling program
- Fortuna Metals completed a 7,618-metre shallow aircore drilling programme across its high-priority rutile and graphite targets.
- The announcement coincided with Fortuna Metals stock trading at $0.084 on the ASX.
- The exploration campaign aims to expand mineral resource potential beyond previous shallow hand auger depths.
Fortuna Metals (ASX:FUN) finished a 7,618-metre shallow aircore drilling campaign designed to evaluate deeper mineralisation across key critical mineral targets.
The new drilling reached an average depth of 22m, significantly penetrating beyond the 8-metre limit of prior hand auger sampling.
"The average depth of the aircore being 22m demonstrates significant potential to increase the resource below the 8m depth of hand auger drilling across the high priority rutile and graphite prospects," said Fortuna Metals CEO Tom Langley.
The exploration company sent 86 detailed mineralogy samples to South Africa for QEMSCAN testing while advancing metallurgical characterisation work.
Fortuna Metals noted that priority laboratory results from the programme are anticipated to arrive in November.
Following the announcement, the Fortuna Metals share price was down at $0.084.
The exploration company targets critical mineral discoveries, including rutile, graphite, and rare earth elements.
