Fortuna Mining (NYSE:FSM) reported steady production results for the second quarter of 2026, generating 72,217 gold equivalent ounces (GEO) from its portfolio of operational mines across West Africa and Latin America.
The quarter’s output brings the company's cumulative first-half production to 145,089 GEO.
This baseline performance firmly positions the intermediate miner to achieve its consolidated 2026 annual production guidance, which is set between 281,000 and 305,000 GEO.
"Our first-half performance keeps us securely on track to hit our full-year targets," the company shared in its operational update. "At the same time, we are aggressively pushing our high-return development pipeline forward to drive long-term structural expansion."
On the capital allocation front, Fortuna stepped up its equity returns, utilizing its robust cash flows to repurchase 8.6 million common shares for $80.2 million under its normal course issuer bid, at an average price of $9.32 per share.
Following the morning operational announcement, Fortuna Mining's share price traded at $8.13.
On a regional project level, engineering group Lycopodium finalized process plant expansion studies for the flagship Séguéla Mine in Côte d'Ivoire.
The proposed modifications look to scale throughput to 2.3 million tonnes per annum, with a final construction decision expected in the coming weeks.
Concurrently, the Diamba Sud gold project in Senegal cleared an essential milestone toward a final investment decision following the receipt of its Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) alongside highly robust feasibility study parameters.
The company also reported with deep regret that a fatal haul truck accident involving a contractor occurred at the Sénum open-pit operations within the Séguéla complex.
Corporate safety teams have initiated a comprehensive site investigation alongside local regulatory bodies to determine the underlying causes and enhance operational safety protocols.
