Ripple expands Dubai hub to scale payments growth

Ripple has opened a new regional headquarters in Dubai to expand its blockchain-based payments and digital asset infrastructure across the Middle East and Africa.

The hub, located in the Dubai International Financial Centre, will support demand for regulated cross-border payment and custody solutions while enabling Ripple to scale its regional operations.

“In recent years the Middle East has become an increasingly vital driver of Ripple’s global growth,”

Said Reece Merrick, Managing Director for the region.

The expansion comes as financial institutions seek alternatives to traditional correspondent banking, with blockchain solutions offering faster and more efficient cross-border transactions.

“Ripple’s expansion within DIFC is a strong signal of the confidence that world-leading digital asset firms have in Dubai,”

Said Arif Amiri of DIFC Authority, and following the announcement the Ripple share price was unchanged at $0.00.

The move follows regulatory approval from the Dubai Financial Services Authority for RLUSD, Ripple’s dollar-backed stablecoin, to be used by regulated firms within the DIFC.

Ripple said the new headquarters will strengthen its ability to serve regional clients while advancing regulated blockchain infrastructure across key financial corridors in the Middle East and Africa.
