North Korea has rejected FBI allegations linking it to the $6.3 billion cryptocurrency theft involving Binance.
The FBI attributed the attack to TraderTraitor, a hacking group linked to North Korea's government.
“But the US assertion is absurd rhetoric and nothing new,” Workers’ Party Central Committee Department Director Kim Yo Jong told state news agency KCNA.
Kim described the accusation as a “grave political provocation” against North Korea and its international reputation.
The FBI said investigators traced stolen cryptocurrency into Ethereum (ETH), with further laundering expected.
Blockchain intelligence firms TRM Labs and Chainalysis, alongside investigator ZachXBT, also linked the theft to North Korean hackers.
Kim also suggested Washington could be involved, but provided no evidence supporting that allegation.
The FBI's attribution remains contested by Pyongyang, which continues to deny responsibility for the Binance theft.
