Orbs opens first vote on DAO framework
- Orbs launched OIP-9, its first formal community vote to establish an initial DAO governance framework.
- Staked ORBS holders will vote through Snapshot, while multisig wallets will implement approved decisions.
- The proposal starts with limited authority before gradually transferring more protocol responsibilities to the community.
Orbs (CRYPTO:ORBS) launched OIP-9, its first formal community governance vote, seeking approval to establish the Orbs DAO framework.
The proposal follows more than seven years of protocol development and nearly four years of on-chain governance.
Staked ORBS holders will vote through Snapshot, with approved decisions implemented through dedicated DAO-controlled multisig wallets.
If approved, the DAO will initially control selected network parameters, Guardian approvals, major upgrades and new protocol deployments.
Orbs operates Layer-3 infrastructure supporting decentralised finance applications and execution products across several blockchain ecosystems.
The network's existing governance model already includes formal votes, improvement proposals and community development initiatives.
