HYPE ETFs lead crypto ETF launch demand
Spot Hyperliquid exchange-traded funds absorbed roughly 1.04% of HYPE’s market capitalisation during their first 10 trading days, according to research from Kairos Research.
The firm said HYPE ETFs outperformed the launch demand pace of spot Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana ETFs when measured against the market capitalisation of each underlying asset at launch.
Eric Balchunas said the 21Shares Hyperliquid ETF gained about 50% within two weeks, significantly faster than comparable gains recorded by some earlier crypto and technology-focused ETFs.
The data suggested growing investor demand for Hyperliquid-linked investment products despite slower initial trading activity after the launch of US-based HYPE ETFs from Bitwise and 21Shares.
According to SoSoValue data, HYPE ETFs recorded about $68 million in net inflows during the week ending May 22, making them the strongest-performing altcoin-linked ETF category during that period.
Meanwhile, spot Bitcoin ETFs experienced approximately $2.26 billion in combined outflows across two consecutive weeks while spot Ether ETFs also recorded net outflows during the same timeframe.
Other altcoin-linked ETF categories including XRP and Solana products posted positive inflows, though both trailed Hyperliquid ETF demand during the latest reporting period.
At the time of reporting, Hyperliquid price was $57.09.
