Pony AI (NASDAQ:PONY) and Uber Technologies (NYSE:UBER) plan to deploy more than 2,000 robotaxis across five European cities under an expanded partnership.
The rollout will expand beyond the companies’ existing Zagreb service into four additional European cities, although no completion timeline has been announced.
Pony AI will provide Level 4 autonomous-driving technology while Uber will handle bookings, payments and customer access, with local partners potentially operating the fleets.
Pony AI and Uber began collaborating in May 2025 and later worked with Verne to launch a commercial robotaxi service in Zagreb during 2026.
Pony AI says it operates paid fully driverless robotaxi services across China’s four tier-one cities and has reached city-wide breakeven unit economics in multiple markets.
