AEVEX completes BlackSea defense acquisition

• AEVEX completed its acquisition of BlackSea Technologies, adding unmanned surface and subsea vessel capabilities to its defense technology portfolio.
• BlackSea becomes AEVEX’s Maritime Systems division, with more than 350 unmanned surface vessels delivered and 25,000+ operational hours.
• The combined company will expand autonomous systems capabilities across air, surface, and subsea defense operations.

AEVEX Corp. (NYSE:AVEX) completed its acquisition of BlackSea Technologies, adding unmanned surface and subsea vessel capabilities to its autonomous defense systems business.

Following the transaction, BlackSea will operate as AEVEX’s Maritime Systems division, led by former BlackSea CEO Bob Pudney, while maintaining its existing customer relationships and manufacturing operations.

BlackSea has delivered more than 350 unmanned surface vessels and recorded over 25,000 operational hours, while its Baltimore manufacturing facility has capacity of approximately 40 unmanned surface vessels per month.

The combined company will integrate BlackSea’s maritime systems with AEVEX’s unmanned aircraft systems, precision strike platforms, ISR solutions, and CompassX mission autonomy software, with more than 10,000 systems delivered and committed through 2026.

AEVEX develops autonomous unmanned systems, artificial intelligence-enabled mission software, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance technologies for defense applications across multiple operational domains.
