AEVEX (NYSE:AVEX) has been awarded the next option year of the Fire Integrated Real-Time Intelligence System (FIRIS) contract by the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES), valued at $15.2 million.
The contract extension maintains AEVEX as the prime provider of real-time airborne intelligence for the state’s wildfire response and emergency readiness programs.

Since program inception in 2020, AEVEX has flown more than 2,600 flight hours across nearly 1,700 missions, mainly supporting initial attack wildfire operations with its GeoFOCIS software and integrated sensors.
AEVEX stated ongoing work will further improve data workflows, airborne sensing, automation and mission integration.
