AbbVie partners with Iambic on AI-driven drug discovery

• AbbVie (NYSE:ABBV) entered a multi-year collaboration with Iambic Therapeutics to use artificial intelligence for small molecule drug discovery.

AbbVie (NYSE:ABBV) announced a multi-year collaboration with Iambic Therapeutics to apply artificial intelligence technologies to discover and develop small molecule therapies.

The collaboration will use Iambic’s AI-powered molecular superintelligence platform to support drug discovery programs across immunology, neuroscience and oncology.

Iambic’s platform includes Enchant v3, a multimodal transformer model trained on more than 6,000 molecular properties, and NeuralPLexer, a technology designed to optimize multiple drug candidate characteristics simultaneously.

The companies aim to improve prediction accuracy, accelerate discovery timelines and increase the likelihood of identifying successful drug candidates.

Under the agreement, Iambic will receive an upfront payment and is eligible for success-based milestone payments and tiered royalties on net sales of products developed through the collaboration.

AbbVie will combine Iambic’s AI capabilities with its existing research expertise to design and evaluate potential therapies more efficiently.
