The White House has confirmed that Donald Trump will deliver a keynote address at a gala for top holders of the Official Trump memecoin on Saturday.
The event, organised by the team behind the TRUMP token, will take place at Mar-a-Lago and is open to the top 297 holders, with an additional private reception reserved for the top 29 investors.
The confirmation follows earlier uncertainty over whether Trump would attend, as previous guidance suggested the appearance was not locked into his schedule.
The gala has drawn scrutiny from lawmakers, including Elizabeth Warren, Richard Blumenthal and Adam Schiff, who questioned whether access to the president was being used to promote token purchases.
“Organisers are promoting a conference by dangling access to President Trump to potential attendees,”
The senators said in a letter, citing concerns over potential financial benefits tied to the memecoin.
The event is the second gathering for TRUMP token holders, following a previous meeting at a Trump golf club in May 2025 that also faced criticism over potential conflicts of interest.
The development highlights ongoing tensions between political office and digital asset ventures, as regulators and lawmakers increasingly scrutinise the intersection of crypto markets and public leadership.
