Samsung Electronics (KRX:005930) has launched USDC accounts on Solana (SOL) through Samsung Wallet for eligible US Galaxy users.

The service went live on 2 November, reaching approximately 82 million compatible Galaxy devices across the United States.

“Samsung Wallet is about making useful experiences feel simple and intuitive,” according to Samsung Electronics executive Woncheol Chai.

Users can buy, hold, send and receive USD Coin (USDC) without installing separate crypto applications or managing private keys.

“For a decade, stablecoins have proved the technology works,” according to Solana Foundation President Lily Liu.

Bastion provides custody and payment infrastructure, while Coinbase safeguards USDC through its Prime Vault service.

Users can transfer USDC to compatible wallets without Samsung transfer fees or send funds to qualifying bank accounts across more than 60 countries.

Samsung plans to explore online and in-store stablecoin payments, alongside expansion into additional markets subject to local regulations.
