
RLUSD crosses $2B as XRP Ledger supply nears $1B
- Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin crossed US$2 billion in market capitalisation last week.
- Nearly US$1 billion of RLUSD was issued on the XRP Ledger.
- Ethereum held slightly more RLUSD than the XRP Ledger at the milestone.
Ripple said its RLUSD stablecoin crossed US$2 billion in market capitalisation last week.
The milestone came less than two years after RLUSD launched in December 2024.
Nearly US$1 billion of the circulating supply had been issued on the XRP Ledger (CRYPTO:XRP), Ripple said.
Data around the milestone showed about US$963 million of RLUSD on the XRP Ledger.
Ethereum held about US$1.05 billion, giving it a slightly larger share at the time.
Ripple said RLUSD is backed by cash or permitted cash equivalents held in segregated reserve accounts.
Standard Custody & Trust Company issues RLUSD under supervision from the New York State Department of Financial Services.
At the time of reporting, XRP price was $1.41.
