Mastercard will sponsor a 36-hour XRP Ledger (CRYPTO:XRP) hackathon in New York on October 24–25.

The event will bring developers together before Ripple’s Swell conference, with four tracks covering different blockchain applications.

The tracks include protocol development, agentic finance, lending and borrowing, and projects adding XRP Ledger features.

XRPL Commons did not disclose Mastercard’s financial contribution, judging role or technical involvement in the event.

Mastercard has not said it will launch products created during the hackathon or give teams access to its payment network.

Mastercard separately plans to support regulated stablecoin settlement across eight blockchain networks, including the XRP Ledger.

The company has also worked with Ripple, WebBank and Gemini on exploring RLUSD settlement for Gemini credit card transactions.
