Ripple adds XRP to AI payments standard

Ripple has upgraded its XRPL AI Starter Kit to support the Machine Payments Protocol.
The update lets AI agents use XRP (CRYPTO:XRP) and RLUSD to pay for data, computing and other online services.
“Our job is to make XRP and RLUSD first-class options wherever developers are building,” said RippleX Head of Product Jazzi Cooper.
Version 1.1 also adds the Open Wallet Standard, which provides a common interface for wallets across multiple blockchains.
The tools can let agents request transactions without accessing private keys, while applying spending limits and approved destinations.
The Machine Payments Protocol was co-authored by Stripe and Tempo, allowing agents to pay for services as they complete tasks.
The software remains in beta, and Ripple has not disclosed commercial users or payment volumes for the new integration.
At the time of reporting, XRP price was $1.30.
