The Digital Asset Market Clarity (CLARITY) Act received support from the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association before a key Senate deadline.
The group said the bill improves crypto regulation but asked lawmakers to strengthen rules for decentralised finance.
“The current version of the CLARITY Act represents meaningful progress toward balancing technological innovation with public safety,” the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association said.
The organisation also called for clearer accountability in decentralised finance and stronger protections for criminal investigations.
The endorsement follows similar support from the National Organisation of Black Law Enforcement Executives earlier this month.
Other law enforcement groups have asked Congress to change parts of the bill that they believe could limit some crypto investigations.
The Senate has less than four weeks before its August recess to decide whether to advance the CLARITY Act.
