  • Breez added a feature that lets developers send stablecoin payments across more than 30 blockchains directly from Bitcoin balances.
  • The update removes the need for users to convert or hold stablecoins before making payments.
  • The company said the feature is designed to simplify cross-chain Bitcoin and stablecoin payments for developers.

Bitcoin infrastructure company Breez has launched a new software development kit feature that lets users send payments from Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) balances as USDC or USDT across more than 30 blockchain networks without first converting their holdings.

The feature uses the Lightning Network to route payments through liquidity providers that automatically convert Bitcoin into stablecoins before delivering funds to a recipient's preferred blockchain.

“Interoperability” lets users spend from a Bitcoin balance while recipients receive stablecoins on supported blockchain networks, said Breez Chief Executive Officer Roy Sheinfeld.

When users enter a wallet address, the SDK identifies the destination blockchain, calculates the payment route, displays the amount and fees, then routes the transaction through liquidity providers including Flashnet and Boltz, while Breez said support for inbound stablecoin payments is planned for a future release.

The company said the feature is intended to help developers add stablecoin payments without integrating multiple blockchain networks or requiring users to manage separate Bitcoin and stablecoin balances, and as Breez is a privately held company there was no share price reaction.

The launch follows broader expansion of Lightning Network applications, including Secure Digital Markets completing a US$1 million Bitcoin payment to Kraken in less than half a second, Voltage introducing a US dollar credit product built on Lightning, and Satlantis launching a Bitcoin-based ticketing platform.

Lightning Network adoption has continued to increase, with River estimating monthly transaction volume exceeded US$1 billion in late 2025 compared with about US$12 million in 2021, while Tether-backed Ark Labs also raised US$5.2 million in March to develop technology supporting stablecoin issuance, transfers and settlement on Bitcoin.

At the time of reporting, Bitcoin price was $59,886.76.
