Spenda divests ledger platform for $1.8M
Spenda (ASX:SPX) entered into a binding agreement to divest its Spenda Ledger technology platform to APG Pay for a total consideration of $1.8 million.
The sale marks the finalisation of a broader corporate reset aimed at streamlining operations and reducing the company’s cost base.
Beyond the immediate cash injection, the divestment is projected to deliver approximately $2.7 million in annual operational savings, representing a substantial 45% reduction in ongoing costs.
The deal is structured to ensure continuity for existing users, as Spenda will retain its current ledger customer base while securing a four-year licence to continue utilising the technology.
As part of the transition, the Spenda Ledger team and the majority of the platform’s associated operating costs will shift to APG Pay.
The move allows Spenda to concentrate resources on scaling its core revenue-generating products, including Spenda Pay, Spenda Ledger, and Spenda Retail.
In tandem with the divestment, Spenda announced a leadership transition to support its simplified business model.
Executive Chairman Karim will assume an expanded operational leadership role, while the positions of Chief Technology Officer and Chief Product Officer will be consolidated under David Wood.
At the time of reporting, Spenda’s share price was $0.0010.
