The discovery follows the completion of a Native Title Heritage Survey, which cleared the way for a four-week hydrogeological drilling programme across the target site.
The company did not include an executive quote in the market announcement.
Workers installed five groundwater monitoring wells for baseline environmental studies alongside cased test and observation wells at two sites for future pump testing.
Following the announcement the PTR Minerals share price was unchanged at $0.10.
