- The campaign aims to test high-grade gold targets, supported by government co-funding and pending reverse circulation assay results.
Metal Hawk (ASX:MHK) has commenced a 1,200-metre diamond drilling programme at the Thylacine south zone within its Leinster South Project in Western Australia.
The new campaign follows previous reverse circulation drilling that intersected 9m at 12.3 grammes per tonne of gold from a depth of 70m.
"RC drilling has shown high-grade gold in both the quartz lode and the surrounding shear, and oriented core will help define the geometry and plunge of those high-grade zones and guide where we drill next," said Metal Hawk Managing Director Will Belbin.
The programme includes three holes totalling 1,000m co-funded by the Western Australian Government's Exploration Incentive Scheme, which is contributing up to $175,000 towards direct drilling costs.
Following the announcement, the Metal Hawk share price was unchanged at $0.10.
The company stated that assay results from a recently completed 10-hole reverse circulation drilling programme covering 1,642m are currently with the laboratory and expected in mid-November.
Metal Hawk holds a 100% interest in the Leinster South Project, which is situated in the Agnew-Lawlers gold region.
