Forrestania Resources (ASX:FRS) triggered its transition into gold production, announcing the commencement of ore haulage from the British Hill deposit to its flagship Lake Johnston processing facility.

The operational milestone marks a step for the company as it prepares for the full commissioning of the plant within the year.

The refurbishment of the Lake Johnston facility is currently being managed by Polaris Engineering.

Once fully operational, the plant is expected to boast a substantial throughput capacity of approximately 3.2 million tonnes per annum.

Chairman David Geraghty noted that the facility’s scale is designed to serve as a long-term regional hub, capable of processing both the company’s internal resources and potential third-party ore.

Forrestania has partnered with the Shire of Dundas to facilitate the transport route.

The collaboration involves a unique backloading arrangement where roadbase is transported to improve critical sections of the Hyden–Norseman Road.

Shire CEO Peter Fitchat welcomed the partnership, stating that the upgrades are vital for regional connectivity.

At the time of reporting, Forrestania Resources’ share price was $0.46.
