  • DGR Global (ASX:DGR) is investing A$4.97 million to acquire a 10% cornerstone stake in Sunstone Metals (ASX:STM) via placement
  • Sunstone Metals (ASX:STM) is raising A$9.94 million at 17.5 cents per share to fund copper‑gold exploration in Ecuador
  • DGR Global (ASX:DGR) says the deal aligns with its Ecuador-focused copper‑gold strategy and includes a Sunstone board seat right

DGR Global (ASX:DGR) is investing A$4,970,296 in Sunstone Metals (ASX:STM) to secure a 10% shareholding and the right to nominate a director to Sunstone’s board while it holds at least 10% of Sunstone’s issued capital.

The placement, priced at 17.5 cents per share and representing 25% of Sunstone’s current issued capital, adds new funding to Sunstone after recent growth in its Ecuador copper‑gold portfolio.

“DGR believes that Sunstone holds the potential to define another world‑class copper‑gold porphyry asset in Ecuador,” said DGR Global CEO and Managing Director Nick Mather.

Sunstone is raising A$9.94 million through the placement to accelerate exploration at the El Palmar–Verde Chico copper‑gold project on the Toachi Fault in northern Ecuador and the Bramaderos project in southern Ecuador, where it has outlined about 3.6 million ounces of gold‑equivalent resources and flagged a forthcoming resource update.

DGR stated that the investment supports its strategy of backing high‑quality mineral exploration projects, citing more than 14 years of Ecuador experience through SolGold and the Cascabel discovery, and it intends to contribute technical oversight and strategic input via board representation.

DGR noted that Ecuador’s position on the Andean copper belt, the emerging Toachi Fault province and recent deals such as SolGold’s reported A$1.7 billion sale to Jiangxi Copper Investment Company Limited underpin its view that Sunstone offers exposure to prospective copper‑gold exploration in the region.
