Australia and Singapore have signed an economic resilience protocol under their free trade agreement to protect essential supply chains.
The agreement addresses trade risks as Australia currently imports approximately 90% of its refined fuel.
Under the accord, both nations established the Australia-Singapore Economic Resilience Dialogue to coordinate responses to future supply disruptions.
Singapore currently supplies 55% of Australia's petrol, 15% of its diesel, and 23% of its aviation fuel.
The initiative builds on defence cooperation agreements previously expanded between both nations in October 2025.
The ministerial forum marks 30 years of bilateral trade cooperation since its establishment in 1996.
