Spire Global wins $3.7 million NOAA contract

Spire Global (NYSE:SPIR) received a $3.7 million NOAA contract to provide satellite weather data from September 18 through December 1, 2026.

NOAA said the award totals $3,671,880 and covers 4,600 GNSS radio occultation profiles per day plus 1,200 Temporal Resolution Enhancements.

The contract marks NOAA’s first procurement of Temporal Resolution Enhancement profiles as a separate commercial RO deliverable, according to Spire.

A fresh post-announcement Spire Global share-price reaction was not yet available, while SPIR’s latest premarket quote before the release was down 5.36% at $13.94.

Spire previously received an $11.19 million NOAA award covering GNSS-RO data from September 18, 2025, through September 18, 2026.

Earlier in August, NOAA also awarded Spire a $3 million six-month extension for Hyperspectral Microwave Sounder data, while the agency plans its next commercial RO acquisition phase from December 1, 2026.
