Smithfield Foods reported Q2 2026 sales of $3.7 billion

Smithfield Foods (NASDAQ:SFD) reported fiscal second-quarter 2026 sales of $3.7 billion, down 2.3%, while operating profit rose 11.6% to $290 million.

Sales declined from $3.79 billion a year earlier, partly because of non-recurring Hog Production joint-venture sales and the earlier Easter holiday in 2026.

Adjusted operating profit reached a record $300 million, while Smithfield cut its FY 2026 adjusted operating profit forecast to $1.225–$1.375 billion from $1.325–$1.475 billion.

Following the announcement, Smithfield Foods' share price was unchanged at $24.44 before regular Nasdaq trading began.

For the first six months, Smithfield generated record adjusted operating profit of $638 million, net income of $484 million and operating cash flow of $204 million.

Smithfield is also pursuing a roughly $450 million acquisition of Nathan’s Famous and has proposed investing up to $1.3 billion in a new Sioux Falls processing facility.
