SFL Corporation (NYSE:SFL) agreed to extend charter contracts for six 15,400 TEU container vessels with Hapag-Lloyd AG for an additional seven years.

The extensions will keep the vessels under charter coverage until 2035–2036 at fixed rates, with the agreements reflecting current conditions in the container shipping market.

The new time charter contracts are expected to add approximately $750 million to SFL’s fixed-rate charter backlog, increasing total backlog to about $4.6 billion.

SFL said it has added more than $1 billion to its charter backlog during 2026 through new and extended contracts across its fleet.

The company said the expanded backlog supports long-term earnings visibility and distribution capacity as it continues operating its shipping portfolio.
