Sempra signs 20-year LNG deal with Petrobras

• Sempra Infrastructure signed a 20-year LNG sales agreement with Petrobras for about 0.8 million tonnes annually.
• The agreement expands Sempra Infrastructure’s LNG customer portfolio and adds its first South American customer.
• The LNG supply will come from contracted capacity at the Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 project in Texas.

Sempra Infrastructure (NYSE:SRE) signed a 20-year sales and purchase agreement with Petrobras for approximately 0.8 million tonnes per annum of liquefied natural gas from the Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 project in Texas.

The agreement adds Petrobras as the first South American company in Sempra Infrastructure’s LNG customer portfolio as the company expands its contracted export capacity.

Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 reached final investment decision in September 2025 and is expected to add two liquefaction trains with approximately 13 million tonnes per annum of capacity, increasing total Port Arthur LNG capacity to about 26 million tonnes per annum.

Sempra Infrastructure said the agreement supports development of Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 and expands its global LNG customer base.

Port Arthur LNG Phase 1 is currently under construction, with commercial operations for trains 1 and 2 expected near the end of 2027 and in 2028, respectively.

The company expects Phase 2 trains 3 and 4 to begin operations in 2030 and 2031, adding additional LNG export capacity from the Texas facility.
