Petrobras Búzios oil field reaches 1.1 million barrels daily
- Petrobras said the Búzios field reached a record average production of 1.1 million barrels of oil per day.
- The milestone exceeded the previous record of 1 million barrels per day set in October 2025.
- Petrobras said new FPSOs and additional wells are supporting further production growth.
Petrobras (NYSE:PBR) said its flagship Búzios field reached a record average production of 1.1 million barrels of oil per day, surpassing the previous record of 1 million barrels per day achieved in October 2025.
The company said the increase was driven by the recently commissioned P-78 and P-79 FPSOs, which are still ramping toward their nameplate capacities of 180,000 barrels per day each.
Petrobras said additional wells continue to be brought online as production expands and the field's development progresses.
Búzios currently produces through eight offshore facilities, including the Almirante Tamandaré FPSO, which has a production capacity of 270,000 barrels per day, while Petrobras said three more FPSOs are under construction and a twelfth unit remains in procurement.
Petrobras said Búzios is Brazil's largest producing oil field and accounts for about one-third of the oil it operates in Brazil, including partner volumes, and represents nearly half of its equity production.
Petrobras said engineering, project management, and technology improvements have shortened construction schedules, while the Búzios consortium continues to operate with partners CNOOC, CNODC, and PPSA.
