Medallion Bank names Justin Haley CEO as Donald Poulton steps down
Medallion Bank (NASDAQ:MBNKO), a wholly owned subsidiary of Medallion Financial Corp. (NASDAQ:MFIN), announced an orderly leadership succession plan under which long-serving Chief Executive Officer Donald Poulton will retire at mid-year.
The specialized consumer lender confirmed that current President Justin Haley will succeed Poulton as CEO, effective July 1, 2026.
Poulton will formally step down from the top executive post on June 30, 2026, concluding a tenure marked by significant balance sheet expansion and record profitability.
Following his retirement, Poulton will remain affiliated with the institution by joining the Medallion Bank Board of Directors, where he has been designated to serve as Chair of the Risk Committee.
Incoming CEO Justin Haley assumes the role after serving as the bank's President since January 2026.
Haley originally joined Medallion Bank in November 2011 as Vice President of Home Improvement Lending, moving upward through senior operations and financial administration tracks, including stints as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer.
With more than 30 years of broader industrial and regional banking experience, Haley has been heavily involved in insourcing the company's information technology infrastructure and structuring its public preferred stock strategies.
