Mechanics Bancorp (NASDAQ:MCHB) reported a second-quarter net income of $57.7 million as the institution reduced its total cost of deposits to 1.25%.

The quarterly net income of $0.25 per diluted share represented an improvement from the $44.1 million generated in the first quarter of 2026.

The financial institution ended the period with total assets of $21.2 billion and a Tier 1 capital ratio of 14.39%.

The company recorded $5.9 million in non-recurring acquisition and integration costs while maintaining an allowance for credit losses to total loans of 1.12%.

Following the announcement, Mechanics Bancorp's share price was up at $15.84.

The bank effectively managed its liquidity position, recording $18.1 billion in total deposits and a loan-to-deposit ratio of 75%.

Mechanics Bancorp also distributed capital returns during the quarter by paying dividends of $0.70 per share for Class A stock and $7.00 for Class B stock.
