Legend Biotech reports five-year CARVYKTI data

Legend Biotech (NASDAQ:LEGN) reported five-year results from the Phase 2 CARTITUDE-2 Cohort A study showing that 10 of 20 patients treated with a single CARVYKTI infusion remained alive and progression-free without further anti-myeloma treatment.
The ongoing study evaluated patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma who had received one to three prior lines of therapy, with results reported after a median follow-up of 60.7 months.
Legend Biotech reported a five-year overall survival rate of 69.2%, median progression-free survival of 60.5 months, and median overall survival that had not been reached at the time of analysis, while one patient developed acute myeloid leukemia and two deaths occurred due to progressive disease and new cancer.
Legend Biotech develops cell therapies, including CAR T-cell treatments such as CARVYKTI, which is being evaluated and used in multiple myeloma treatment settings.
The company said longer-term follow-up from CARTITUDE-2 continues to provide data on CARVYKTI treatment outcomes, including survival results and safety monitoring in patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma.
