Legend Biotech (NASDAQ:LEGN) announced a significant leadership transition, confirming that Ying Huang, Ph.D., has stepped down from his role as Chief Executive Officer and as a member of the Board of Directors, effective July 24, 2026.
To facilitate a seamless transition, Dr. Huang will continue to serve as an advisor to the company through August 2026.
In response to the departure, the Board of Directors has appointed Alan Bash as Interim Chief Executive Officer.
Bash most recently served as the President of the CARVYKTI Business Unit.
The Board has simultaneously commenced a comprehensive search process to identify a permanent CEO.
Reflecting recent market activity, Legend Biotech shares traded near $21.53.
Board Chairman Frank Zhang emphasized that the company's focus remains squarely on continuity, robust operational execution, and sustaining its growth trajectory.
Dr. Huang also expressed his continued confidence in Legend Biotech’s strategic direction, robust clinical pipeline, and long-term market opportunities.
According to the company, Bash’s immediate priorities as Interim CEO will include ensuring business continuity and maintaining execution across commercial, clinical, and operational fronts.
These efforts will be heavily centered on the commercialization of CARVYKTI and the advancement of the company’s broader cell therapy pipeline.
