Eton launches IMPAVIDO treatment in U.S. market

Eton Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:ETON) launched IMPAVIDO (miltefosine) capsules in the United States under exclusive U.S. commercialization rights for the treatment of certain forms of leishmaniasis.

The drug is indicated for visceral, cutaneous, and mucosal leishmaniasis in patients at least 12 years old who weigh at least 30 kg.

Eton said IMPAVIDO has been added to its Eton Cares program, which provides a $0 co-pay option for eligible commercially insured patients and expanded patient assistance, while Anovo Specialty Pharmacy will manage distribution and access coordination.

Eton Pharmaceuticals develops and commercializes pharmaceutical products across specialty markets, including treatments for rare diseases and other medical conditions.

The company noted that IMPAVIDO carries safety warnings, including a contraindication during pregnancy due to potential fetal harm and reports of Stevens-Johnson syndrome.
