Eli Lilly reports 27.7 percent Omvoh remission rate
- Eli Lilly reported that 27.7 percent of Omvoh-treated ulcerative colitis patients achieved comprehensive disease control at one year.
- The positive clinical outcomes bolstered the company's gastrointestinal portfolio, with the stock trading up at $1,228.50.
- The company stated the data demonstrates the drug's long-term efficacy, targeting patients who previously failed biologic therapies.
Eli Lilly (NYSE:LLY) reported that 27.7 percent of ulcerative colitis patients on Omvoh achieved corticosteroid-free disease control at one year.
This clinical outcome compared directly against a 14 percent placebo rate observed during the LUCENT-2 trial.
In the VIVID-1 Crohn's disease trial, 20.4 percent of treated patients achieved deep remission compared to 2 percent on placebo.
Both trial endpoints required patients to remain completely off corticosteroids for at least 12 weeks before the 52-week mark.
The company expects these clinical outcomes to support long-term patient care, and following the announcement the Eli Lilly share price was up at $1,228.50.
These specific disease control benefits were also observed in trial participants who had previously experienced biologic treatment failure.
The drug is currently approved across 47 countries to treat moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease.
