  • DoorDash’s Deliveroo and Coco Robotics will introduce autonomous robot deliveries in the UK starting in Canary Wharf, London, in October.
  • The rollout will expand to Milton Keynes, Leeds, Stockton-on-Tees and Nottingham in the following weeks and months.
  • The partnership marks Deliveroo’s first UK autonomous delivery program and Coco Robotics’ entry into the UK market.

DoorDash (NASDAQ:DASH) brand Deliveroo partnered with Coco Robotics to launch autonomous robot deliveries across the UK beginning in Canary Wharf, London, in October.

The service will expand to Milton Keynes, Leeds, Stockton-on-Tees and Nottingham as the companies extend coverage beyond the initial launch area.

Coco Robotics Chief Executive Officer Zachary Rash said the partnership builds on Coco’s existing collaborations with DoorDash and Wolt in other markets and expands its autonomous delivery operations.

The initial Canary Wharf service will include restaurants such as Patty&Bun, Signorelli and Beam, with additional merchants expected as the delivery area expands.

DoorDash did not provide a financial value for the partnership, while the companies said Coco’s UK launch will include investment in depots, charging facilities and operations, maintenance and logistics roles.

Deliveroo has previously tested delivery technology in different markets, but the UK rollout represents its first deployment of autonomous delivery vehicles in the country.

Coco Robotics operates autonomous delivery robots in multiple markets and has partnerships with platforms including DoorDash and Wolt to provide last-mile delivery services.
