DoorDash (NASDAQ:DASH) announced Wednesday it will exit four international markets, a strategic retreat aimed at consolidating resources in geographies where the company sees a clearer path to "sustainable scale."
The company will wind down services under its Deliveroo and Wolt brands in Japan, Singapore, Qatar, and Uzbekistan.
The move marks a significant shift in DoorDash’s international strategy, particularly in Asia, where it has struggled to unseat entrenched incumbents like Grab and Foodpanda.
In Singapore, the Deliveroo platform is scheduled to go offline permanently on March 4, ending an 11-year presence in the city-state.
The retrenchment comes just months after DoorDash finalized its $3.9 billion acquisition of British delivery firm Deliveroo, a deal intended to solidify its European footprint.
As part of a broader "operational optimization," the company also announced it would shift some engineering resources to its U.K. hub to support a unified global technology stack.
Despite the exits, DoorDash reaffirmed its 2026 financial guidance issued on February 18.
