Diana Shipping (NYSE:DSX) signed a time charter with Classic Maritime for the dry bulk vessel G. P. Zafirakis at a gross rate of $38,000 per day.

The new charter compares with the vessel’s current rate of $26,800 per day under its agreement with Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha, with both charters carrying a 5% third-party commission.

The new agreement is expected to begin on October 10, 2026 and run until at least October 1, 2027.

The charter may extend through December 15, 2027, depending on the agreed maximum period.

Diana said the minimum scheduled period is expected to generate approximately $13.34 million in gross revenue.

The company currently operates a fleet of 36 dry bulk vessels across its shipping portfolio.

That fleet count excludes two methanol dual-fuel Kamsarmax newbuildings scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2027 and the first half of 2028.
