  • Diana Shipping fixed its Astarte vessel on a new time charter at $17,000 per day.
  • The agreement is expected to generate about $5.81 million in gross revenue during the minimum period.
  • The charter begins around September 20, 2026 and runs into 2027.

Diana Shipping (NYSE:DSX) secured a new time charter agreement for its Kamsarmax dry bulk vessel m/v Astarte at a gross rate of US$17,000 per day, expected to generate about US$5.81 million in gross revenue over the minimum charter period.

The new charter rate is above Astarte’s current agreement with Propel Shipping at US$12,500 per day, representing a higher daily rate for the vessel.

The charter with Aquavita International begins around September 20, 2026 and is expected to continue until at least September 1, 2027, with an option extending through November 15, 2027, and includes a 4.75% commission to third parties.

Diana Shipping operates 36 dry bulk vessels with a combined carrying capacity of approximately 4.1 million deadweight tons and transports commodities including dry bulk cargo.

The company is also preparing for the delivery of two methanol dual-fuel Kamsarmax newbuildings scheduled for 2027 and 2028.

The Astarte charter adds contracted revenue visibility as Diana Shipping continues managing its dry bulk fleet and vessel employment strategy.
