CollPlant completes LightSolver acquisition

CollPlant Biotechnologies (NASDAQ:CLGN) completed its acquisition of Israeli deep-tech company LightSolver, expanding into high-performance computing and photonics while continuing its existing regenerative medicine operations.

The acquisition adds LightSolver’s Laser Processing Unit (LPU) technology, an all-optical laser-based computing architecture designed for computational workloads including simulations, optimization, and large-scale mathematical systems.

CollPlant stated that the transaction is intended to add photonic computing capabilities through LightSolver’s technology, which targets applications across aerospace, defense, energy, advanced engineering, financial services, and Physical AI.

At closing, CollPlant issued ordinary shares and pre-funded warrants, invested $5 million in LightSolver, and established additional milestone-based warrants that may become exercisable if certain technology and commercial targets are achieved.

CollPlant said LightSolver’s operations will continue alongside its regenerative medicine business, while the company develops its recombinant human collagen and 3D bioprinting platforms.
