Midtown Manhattan Building Unstable After Columns Buckle, Mamdani Says

A Midtown Manhattan building under construction is unstable and a collapse warning has been issued. City officials say two columns on the 21st floor buckled and bricks were reported falling to the streets below. No one has been hurt. The building is at 235 East 42nd Street. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani said at a news conference that other buildings and a school have been evacuated while the site is secured.

Mag 7 Loses Market Swagger as AI Trade Spreads Beyond Behemoths

For years, the Magnificent Seven tech giants commanded investors' attention, dominating the S&P 500 Index and determining which way the overall stock market was headed. Those days are over. While the technology-heavy Nasdaq 100 Index is up 16% in 2026 and the S&P 500 has climbed 10%, an index of the Mag 7 has gained just 1.7%. The artificial intelligence trade that made a market force out of those tech behemoths  Nvidia Corp., Alphabet Inc., Apple Inc., Microsoft Corp., Amazon.com Inc., Meta Platforms Inc. and Tesla Inc.  is still on.

Oil Climbs as Fresh Tanker Strike Highlights Risks Around Hormuz

Mike McGlone, Senior Commodity Strategist for Bloomberg Intelligence, joined Bloomberg's Paul Sweeney and Stacey Vanek Smith to talk the uncertain oil market during the ongoing conflict in Iran.  Oil nudged higher following attacks on shipping in and around the Strait of Hormuz, highlighting continued risks to vessels in the critical waterway. Brent traded near $73 a barrel. A laden liquefied natural gas carrier, Al Rekayyat, was hit by a projectile near the Omani coast as it exited the waterway. Axios reported that two vessels were hit and suffered damage.  The world's biggest shipping trade group said transits through Hormuz may dip after the latest incidents, though there will still be shipowners willing to take the risk of crossing. A convoy of vessels, including oil tankers, appeared to be making its way along the Oman route on Tuesday.
