AstraZeneca (NASDAQ:AZN) completed its exclusive license agreement with Dizal Pharmaceutical for worldwide rights to develop and commercialize ZEGFROVY (sunvozertinib), an oral EGFR inhibitor for patients with lung cancer.

The agreement expands AstraZeneca’s oncology portfolio with a treatment already approved in the United States and China for second-line treatment of adults with locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer with EGFR exon 20 insertion mutations.

Under the agreement, AstraZeneca will pay Dizal $600 million upfront, with additional payments of up to $900 million tied to development, regulatory, and sales milestones, along with tiered royalties on global ZEGFROVY sales.

The company said ZEGFROVY is expected to launch in the United States in the fourth quarter of 2026 for its approved indication.

AstraZeneca develops medicines across oncology, cardiovascular, renal, metabolic, respiratory, and other therapeutic areas.

ZEGFROVY is also being evaluated in first-line EGFR exon 20 insertion mutation-positive NSCLC, with regulatory submissions supported by Phase 3 WU-KONG28 trial results and Breakthrough Therapy Designations from U.S. and Chinese regulators.
