WhiteBIT launches UK exchange with GBP access
European crypto exchange WhiteBIT has launched whitebit.uk for UK retail and institutional users, adding GBP trading and Faster Payments Service funding as competition intensifies in Britain’s regulated crypto market.
The platform went live on May 20 and offers spot trading, instant crypto conversion tools and market analytics for retail clients, while institutional customers gain access to liquidity services, token listings, Crypto-as-a-Service infrastructure and API connectivity.
“Entering the U.K. market marks an important milestone in WhiteBIT’s expansion across regulated jurisdictions,”
said W Group founder and president, Volodymyr Nosov.
Nosov said the UK remained a major global financial hub with growing demand for crypto platforms focused on trust, transparency and compliance as regulators continue shaping digital asset rules.
The UK launch comes after the Financial Conduct Authority reported in 2025 that 91% of UK adults were aware of crypto assets, while around 8% held digital assets and 73% of holders accessed markets through centralised exchanges.
WhiteBIT said direct GBP funding through bank cards and the Faster Payments Service removes the need for third-party currency conversion before trading, while institutional clients can integrate crypto operations without building proprietary infrastructure.
Founded in 2018, WhiteBIT operates under W Group, which claims to serve more than 35 million users globally, while the exchange also maintains partnerships with Visa, FC Barcelona and Juventus FC as it expands across regulated markets.
