
StarkWare completes quantum-resistant Bitcoin transaction

StarkWare says it completed what it describes as the first quantum-resistant Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) transaction on mainnet.
The transaction used Quantum Safe Bitcoin, which replaces Bitcoin’s traditional elliptic-curve cryptography with hash-based signatures.
The system works within Bitcoin’s existing script standards, so it does not require a soft fork or consensus change.
The transaction bypassed Bitcoin’s standard mempool and required direct submission to miners.
StarkWare estimates each transfer currently costs between US$75 and US$150 because of added computing requirements.
The source says the higher cost and miner submission could limit the system to high-value holders and institutions initially.
The development shows one possible way to add quantum-resistant protection without changing Bitcoin’s current consensus rules.
At the time of reporting, Bitcoin price was $78,743.98.
