  • Spiko has integrated Coinbase Payments into two UCITS Treasury-bill funds, allowing eligible investors to subscribe and redeem using USDC and EURC.
  • The integration uses Coinbase's Base network and marks the first European UCITS funds to accept direct stablecoin payments, according to Coinbase.
  • The partnership expands the use of stablecoins in regulated investment products as tokenised fund infrastructure continues to develop.

Spiko has integrated Coinbase Payments into its European Union Treasury-bill and US Treasury-bill UCITS money market funds, allowing eligible investors to subscribe and receive redemption proceeds using USDC and EURC through Coinbase's Base network.

Coinbase said the funds are the first UCITS products in Europe to accept direct stablecoin payments, while the integration provides payment, wallet and application programming interface infrastructure without changing the underlying fund structure.

Spiko said investors can submit subscription requests at any time, including weekends and public holidays, while redemption proceeds can be transferred to stablecoin wallets within minutes after positions are liquidated, although the funds continue to process subscriptions and redemptions under their existing operating procedures.

The partnership comes as UCITS funds recorded net inflows of €104 billion in April after €41 billion in net outflows during March, according to EFAMA, while total net sales reached a record €828 billion in 2025.

The launch follows similar tokenisation initiatives across the asset management industry, including WisdomTree's approval for secondary trading with USDC settlement and a collateral programme developed by Franklin Templeton and Binance using tokenised money market fund shares.

The latest integration reflects growing adoption of blockchain-based settlement infrastructure for regulated investment funds as asset managers explore stablecoins to improve payment efficiency and investor access.
