Ripple highlighted expanding use cases for XRP (CRYPTO:XRP) ahead of its Swell 2026 conference, with CTO Emeritus David Schwartz pointing to adoption across payments, tokenisation, decentralised finance, interoperability and artificial intelligence.

The event is expected to be Ripple's largest Swell conference to date, with the company projecting more than 1,500 attendees, over 75 speakers and more than 50 sessions in New York City.

“The best part of these events is always seeing the new ways people are using XRP and building on the XRP Ledger,” said Ripple CTO Emeritus David Schwartz.

Schwartz said discussions at the event will focus on practical applications for XRP, while Ripple executives have also linked the digital asset to payments, liquidity management, custody services and enterprise treasury operations.

Ripple continues to emphasise utility-driven adoption for XRP, citing settlement times of three to five seconds and transaction costs measured in fractions of a cent, while following the announcement XRP was trading independently of the event and no material market reaction was reported.

The speaker lineup includes Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, Ripple President Monica Long, Bullish CEO Tom Farley, Tradeweb CEO Billy Hult and Water.org co-founder Matt Damon, reflecting a mix of blockchain, finance and philanthropic perspectives.

Recent commentary from Ripple executives and ecosystem participants has increasingly focused on XRP's role in cross-border payments, treasury management, payroll, liquidity provision and cross-chain applications as development activity across the XRP Ledger ecosystem continues.

At the time of reporting, XRP price was $1.19.
