Ripple Chief Legal Officer Stuart Alderoty urged US lawmakers to support the proposed CLARITY Act, linking the legislation to 232,000 crypto-related US jobs.

The National Cryptocurrency Association (NCA) estimates the US crypto sector supports 232,000 jobs and generates $55 billion in economic value.

“A vote for Clarity is a vote for jobs and economic growth,” said Ripple Chief Legal Officer Stuart Alderoty in a post on X.

The NCA estimates 34,000 jobs are direct crypto roles, while suppliers and contractors account for about 75,000 more.

Alderoty said clearer rules could help retain crypto businesses and jobs in the US, although these are potential outcomes rather than established results.

The CLARITY Act aims to establish clearer rules for digital assets and define regulatory responsibilities between US agencies.

The NCA estimates crypto-related activity also contributes $31 billion in additional worker income, while California, New York and Texas have the largest job totals.
