Nexo has launched its dual-mode crypto card in Argentina, allowing eligible users to spend cryptocurrency directly or borrow against their digital asset holdings without selling them as the company expands across Latin America.

The card is available through Nexo's app and website for eligible clients and supports purchases in Argentine pesos and US dollars, with users able to switch between spending and borrowing modes through a single interface.

"Argentine clients have spent a decade making digital assets part of how they manage wealth," said incoming Nexo Argentina General Manager Andres Ondarra.

Nexo said the card also offers cashback on eligible purchases, interest on idle in-app balances, fee-free ATM withdrawals of up to US$1,000 and fee-free foreign currency spending of up to US$2,000 per month, subject to eligibility and account terms.

The launch coincides with Ondarra's appointment as general manager from Aug. 1, while Buenos Aires becomes Nexo's regional hub for client support, partnerships and infrastructure across Latin America.

Nexo said Argentina processed approximately US$93.9 billion in digital asset transactions over the past three years, making it one of the region's largest cryptocurrency markets behind Brazil.

The launch follows Nexo's acquisition of Argentine crypto platform Buenbit and its partnership with Argentina's national football team, as the company expands its products in a market where cryptocurrencies are widely used for payments, savings and access to dollar-linked assets.
