  • Mirae Asset has set a 150 trillion won, or about $109 billion, digital asset target.
  • The group acquired 97.15% of Digital X, formerly Korbit, for 141.4 billion won.
  • It plans to build businesses across crypto, stablecoins, RWAs and tokenised securities.

Mirae Asset has set a 150 trillion won, or about $109 billion, target for its digital asset business.

The group plans to build the business around cryptocurrency, stablecoins, real-world assets and security tokens.

“Our initial goal is to make Digital X a core pillar of ‘Mirae Asset 3.0’ and grow the digital asset business to 150 trillion won by leveraging the group’s 1,500 trillion won in client assets,” Park said.

Digital X, formerly Korbit, will anchor the strategy and use Mirae Asset’s 1,500 trillion won in client assets as its base.

Mirae Asset acquired 97.15% of Korbit for 141.4 billion won and later approved a 50 billion won capital injection.

Park said Mirae Asset plans to make its digital asset operations profitable in 2027, but gave no deadline for the 150 trillion won target.

The group also plans to tokenise assets including gold, silver and electricity as South Korea prepares new tokenised securities rules.
